About SCIE - partnership projects

SCIE is a core partner for a number of organisations:

The Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People's Services (C4EO)

CIE is a core partner in the C4EO consortium, leading on outputs and dissemination. The consortium gathers and shares the best evidence of ‘what works'. This helps all professionals across children's services, education and health, to improve the life chances of all children and young people, particularly those who are most vulnerable.

The College of Social Work

An independent College of Social Work has now been established to articulate and promote the interests of good social work. Membership is open to social workers, social work students and associates such as social work lecturers and managers of social work team. SCIE helped to set up The College.

Think Local Act Personal

SCIE is hosting the new Think Local, Act Personal Partnership to support personalisation. We host the small central team supporting the partnership, commission any work requested by the Partnership Board. We also provide backroom services such as admin, finance, facilities and HR support as required.

Work with NICE

SCIE works with the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) on a range of projects including guidelines that impact on both social care and health care services. We are currently working together to develop two pilot social care quality standards – one on dementia care and one on the wellbeing of looked after children and young people.

We have produced a summary of existing and current work. We also have a memorandum of understanding with NICE.

For further information about social care quality standards, visit the NICE website.

Dignity in Care Network

We host and maintain the Dignity in Care Network. There are more than 30,000 Dignity Champions in the UK. They are, for instance, able to act as good role models by treating other people with respect, particularly those who are less able to stand up for themselves.

National Skills Academy for Social Care

SCIE supported the establishment of the National Skills Academy when it was being set up. This body looks to transform the quality of leadership, management, training, development and commissioning. The Academy is now an independent organisation.

SCIE's networks

We also run or closely work with a number of networks.
