About SCIE - our priorities
In 2011/12, our priorities include:
- Personalising services for adults: We continue to provide guidance on good practice, and we host the national partnership to support personalisation - Think Local, Act Personal.
- Child protection: We are helping councils to learn from serious child protection cases by training the people who carry out serious case reviews. Read about the SCIE model here..
- Integration with health: We are working with health partners, including the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) to enable health and social care providers and commissioners to work together more effectively.
- Dementia: We are updating and expanding our online Dementia Gateway - an accessible and comprehensive guide to supporting people with dementia.
- Safeguarding adults: We will continue to develop our services on safeguarding including new films and guidance. See our safeguarding pages.
- Transition from children's to adults' services: We are developing comprehensive guidance and summaries on managing the transition from Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to adult mental health services. Here is one report.
- Support for social workers: As well as supporting the establishment of The College of Social Work, SCIE is there to help social workers and social work students and educators.
