Adults' services: Disabilities

Although some adults with disabilities have already taken up direct payments, individual budgets will offer new opportunities for independent living to more people. Disability services will need to adapt to changing priorities brought about by the move to personalised services. Many adults with disabilities are parents and need support so that they can fulfil their parenting role. Good support is dependent on a close working relationship between adults' services and children's and families' services.
