Mental health
There is still a stigma associated with mental health problems. All too often people who use mental health services are isolated from their communities and excluded from the workplace, but they can be given hope for the future where services adopt the 'recovery' approach. Now gaining prominence as a guiding principle for mental health services, the recovery approach offers encouragement to people with mental health problems and recognises that it is possible to live well despite any limitations caused by continuing symptoms and disabilities.
