Safeguarding Adults Reviews under the Care Act:
Published: March 2015
Under the 2014 Care Act, Safeguarding Adults Boards (SABs) are responsible for Safeguarding Adults Reviews (SARs). This resource aims to help SABs in thinking about how they fulfil those responsibilities. It focuses on a selection of key issues. It is intended to supplement the policy development work already underway or completed by SABs.
People from the Association of Independent Chairs of Adult Safeguarding Boards, the
Advisory Group for all SCIE’s Care Act work, and others gave feedback on a first draft of this resource. SCIE will be responding in due course, including providing a summary of advantages and disadvantages of different available models.
