About the Good Practice Framework

SCIE’s core mission is to identify and spread knowledge about good practice to help improve and transform social care services. ‘Knowledge’ can take many forms and SCIE seeks to mobilise the most compelling knowledge which provides strong evidence of good practice.

SCIE has now designed and trialled a new system – the Good Practice Framework (GPF) – which is an on-line facility to help social care professionals put forward good practice examples for others to see and to use. The development of the Framework responds to calls from the Sector for a better way to be found than hitherto for disseminating effective practice which people can really trust. The GPF strategy does this through a combination of guided self-evaluation and external review and classification of submitted examples.
