CSCI's work must continue

Commenting on the proposals to merge the work of the Commission for Social Care Inspection with other inspectorates, SCIE Chief Executive, Bill Kilgallon, said:

"A period of stability in social care inspection would have been very welcome. CSCI are developing a new style of inspection which focuses on the experience of people using social care services. It is very important that this continues with the new arrangements. SCIE will continue to work closely with CSCI over the period of change to ensure that our work in establishing the knowledge base about what works in social care is built into their inspection and regulation."
