SCIE welcomes Department of Health restructure

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) has welcomed the news from the Department of Health of a greater emphasis on social care in its plans for restructuring.
Commenting on the new board-level post which will focus on social care, Chief Executive of SCIE Bill Kilgallon said:
"This is very welcome news for the social care sector. This new post will give a strong voice for social care in the top management of the Department and help create a greater foundation of social care policy and management experience for ministers and officials to draw on. This will be particularly crucial with the implementation of the coming white paper on social care and primary care."
