Health and Social Care Bill

The health and social care sectors will change significantly when The Health and Social Care Bill, published on 19 January, receives parliamentary approval. The transfer of public health to local authorities, the establishment of Health and Wellbeing Boards, and the development of GP-led commissioning consortia offer SCIE the opportunity to support models of good practice in integrated working across health and social care. The Bill gives NICE new duties, responsibilities and freedoms, including extending its remit into social care. We are already working with NICE to help them to develop a new approach to quality standards which will improve the health and care services that people use.
