SCIE press release

Dementia Awareness Week - SCIE comment

23 May 2013

Dementia Awareness Week is a great opportunity to challenge the dementia myths. People are talking about dementia, sharing their experiences and offering help. There’s so much activity it’s difficult to pick out the highlights. Try the video blog from actress Ruth Jones; or the new crop of blogs on Gill Phillips’s website Whose Shoes; or the wealth of resources from the Alzheimer’s Society; or just look for #TalkDementia on twitter. You choose – but what you will find is that people can live well with dementia and when things are tough, care and support can be there to help. SCIE knows how important it is to have the right support. We have plenty of resources to help people living with dementia, their carers, care staff and commissioners of services. And we are developing more all the time – look out for new videos next week. Please use our resources and those of other organisations; we are all passionate about improving the lives of people with dementia and their families.
