SCIE’s work on adult services

SCIE’s work on services for adults supports the vision set out in the Department of Health’s Putting People First. This document defines SCIE’s part in the process of change as to ‘promote, identify and disseminate best practice and innovation, acting as a catalyst for system-wide transformation’.

Transformation will require the personalisation of social care. The introduction of individual budgets will have a major impact on services for adults. In the future adults will be increasingly in control of their own care. Instead of having to adapt their own needs to the demands placed on them by care services, those services will now have to provide care that suits individual budget holders.
.
SCIE’s resources for adults’ have been produced with the aim of supporting all those who work in services for adults. They will also be of interest to people who use services and their carers.
