SCIE’s work on workforce development
The successful transformation of social care services will depend on a more flexible skilled workforce with enthusiasm for learning new skills, so social care workers should be encouraged to learn about new ways of working and to recognise when they need to update their practice.
SCIE’s priority is to support those organisations which provide teaching and training in social care by producing and disseminating resources that focus on the development of new skills and the improvement of existing skills.
SCIE also aims to improve the quality of leadership management and world class commissioning in social care and to support the development of a new sector Skills Academy.
