An introduction to the mental health of older people

Gain 10 credits towards a university award

In partnership with University of Surrey SCIE has agreed to allow these learning resources to be used to gain 10 credits towards a university award.

To do this, you will need to register with the University of Surrey and use the learning materials to complete a 1000 or 1500 word work-based assignment.  One-to-one tutorial support will be available from a specialist in the mental health care of older people by telephone and/or email.

Module breakdown

Credits / Level of Study: 10 Credits/Level 1 or 2

Pre-requisites

Regular contact with an older person who has a mental health condition.

Mode of Study

On-line learning material, e-mail discussion, telephone discussion, discussion group. Please note that this module does not involve attendance at the University of Surrey.

Assessment

Level 1: work-based reflective essay (1000 words)
Level 2: work-based critical reflective essay (1500 words)
