MCA audit tools - team or organisational practice, with a focus on the impact of the MCA on the consent process

• Royal Hospital for Neuro-Disability (RHN) audit toolOpen

  RHN have developed a tool to evaluate the impact of the Act on the consent process. The overall aim is two fold:

  1. To audit the consent process in line with the Act;
  2. To support implementation highlighting areas where implementation is difficult and to suggest practical solutions.

  The tool presents a holistic approach to practice, incorporating assessments of capacity, the consent and consultation processes, and the recording of advanced directives and LPA’s.
