Older people and equipment and telecare

Telecare offers potential benefits for individual users including safety and independence. It also has the potential to reduce social care costs, allowing the more efficient deployment of direct care staff. However, social care and health professionals need to consider a range of ethical issues when supporting an individual in deciding whether to use telecare.
