Social work education

SCIE’s social work education resources support the social work degree taught in universities in England, Northern Ireland and Wales and review the evidence for the teaching and learning of the five core areas of the degree:

Human growth, development, mental health and disability
Assessment, planning, intervention and review
Communication skills
Law
Partnership working and information sharing.

The aim of SCIE’s social work education resources is to identify good practice messages to assist social work educators in developing effective frameworks for teaching the five core subjects on social work qualifying courses.

As well as people who teach social work (that is, academics, practice teachers and service users), these resources may be of interest to researchers, students and people who work in social care.
