This resource introduces you to an interactive pathway through the criminal justice system and along the way you will learn about key professionals, their roles and responsibilities and key resources and services available. This resource will further your understanding of: the pathway through the Criminal Justice System encompassing the stages of arrest, court, prison sentence and release; the voluntary sector services and resources that are available at each stage of the pathway; the roles and responsibilities at each stage of the pathway for: police officers, social workers, children’s service, behavioural support workers, Sure Start children’s centre staff, and probation officers.

This report looks across health and social care services for children, young people and adults with four aims: To provide a short summary of the history and principles of user involvement; To describe the current situation in Northern Ireland; To discuss a range of options for the further inclusion and participation of users in the work of NISCC, RQIA and SCIE; To make recommendations to inform the development of a future strategy for user.
