NICE Collaborating Centre for Social Care

Support for the NCCSC

The NICE Collaborating Centre for Social Care has been welcomed by leaders in the sector.

SCIE has always involved and been responsive to the views of service users. They have pioneered the co-production approach and for that reason I am delighted that SCIE and partners will have the opportunity to take forward the work of the new Centre.

Sue Bott, Director of Development, Disability Rights UK

I am delighted with this news. SCIE is perfectly placed to carry out this work. I have known SCIE since its inception and am confident that they will ensure that service users are at the heart of everything.

Maxine Wrigley, Chief Executive, A National Voice and former care leaver

SCIE has a strong track record of involving carers in developing accessible, practical resources for service-users and their families. We look forward to working with the Centre to bring together service-users, carers, the care workforce and commissioners to improve families' experiences of care and support services.

Helena Herklots, Chief Executive, Carers UK

It's great news for the sector that SCIE have been named as the preferred supplier to provide the NICE Collaborating Centre for Social Care. SCIE is uniquely well-placed to work with people who use services, front line workers and local commissioners to co-design standards which push forward the personalisation of social care.

Alex Fox, Chair, Care Providers Alliance and Chief Executive Officer, Shared Lives Plus

ADASS will very much look forward to working within this new framework which will benefit enormously from the varied and well-honed skills SCIE has developed through its previous work on best practice in social care.

Sarah Pickup, President, Association of Directors of Adult Social Services

SCIE has a strong history of gathering and analysing information about what works and does not work within social care as well as working with others in the sector such as health and housing to improve the lives of people throughout England. NICE now has responsibility to develop quality standards and guidance for social care in England, and SCIE will be a strong organisation to deliver this work.

Andrew Webb, Vice President of the Association of Directors of Children's Services (ADCS)
