SCIE's comment on the Munro Review of child protection
04 October 2010
Commenting on the “systems analysis” focus of Professor Eileen Munro’s first report, SCIE’s Chair, Allan Bowman says:
I’m particularly pleased that Professor Munro has looked at serious case reviews. She concludes that they don’t foster a learning culture which supports improved practice. SCIE’s model for serious case reviews provides a way of thinking about front-line practice and is generating new ideas about how to improve practice, in order to help to keep children safe. This ‘systems’ approach to organisational learning can be used across agencies involved in safeguarding and child protection work.
We look forward to both reports to be published by Professor Munro in 2011.
