Find Me Good Care extends review service

05 March 2013

People can now review any care and support service that they have used on Find Me Good Care.

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) launched Find Me Good Care in October 2012. The website provides a wealth of information and guidance to help people navigate the complex world of care and support services including the opportunity to comment on services they have used. Originally this review option was limited to services with an enhanced listing, but is now being extended to all 30,500 services listed on the site.

Speaking about the development, Andrea Sutcliffe, SCIE chief executive said:

Nothing beats finding out what a service is really like by visiting or speaking to people who already use it. That's why we have included feedback in Find Me Good Care so that people have access to as much valuable information as possible before they make that major decision about which service to choose for themselves or a loved one.

I am delighted that following the experience of our first few months we can open up Find Me Good Care reviews to all services. We always wanted to do this but needed to make sure that we could support this extended service properly. We are now confident we can and I hope this development will make Find Me Good Care even more useful for the public and care providers.

SCIE will continue to moderate all feedback and offer care providers the right to reply.

SCIE has also produced a short Find Me Good Care film featuring people talking about their experience of choosing and using different care and support options. The film aims to help people consider their options before selecting a particular type of service.
