Coaching to Innovation Programme projects
22 August 2018
The Department for Education’s Children’s Social Care Innovation Programme seeks to develop, test and share effective ways of supporting children who need help from children’s social care services. A new partnership - made up of SCIE, Mutual Venture and Innovation Unit - is providing experienced, expert, flexible support and challenge to 45 live Innovation Programme-funded projects. The partnership will provide an expert pool of coaches to do things like create a strong project team and develop a robust evidence-base. SCIE and other partners’ support will help projects to capture and share best practice.
Innovation is exciting but it remains important to develop an evidence base of tried and tested approaches, in order to influence policy and local practice, and to maximise the value of investment in new projects. The Innovation Programme wants everyone to use properly evidenced innovations with confidence. That’s an important goal and so we’re delighted to be involved in this partnership, helping ensure innovation can be harnessed in the most effective way to improve experiences and outcomes for children and young people.SCIE's chief executive Tony Hunter
