Carl arranges meetings with the team leaders and senior clinicians from all the health disciplines.

He also talks to leads in the third sector organisations, and to the Mental Health Trust director who is his new line manager.

Team leader 1 thinks: It could work. We know what we’re doing. But in the new set-up, will we be allowed to follow our professional judgement?

Third sector organisations: Advocacy leader 2 thinks: Obviously, all this change is worrying. But on balance, I’m hopeful. I think the Trust’s understanding of people with mental health problems is probably more extensive than the local authority’s.

Referral thinks: We want to work with the community mental health team as part of the hub.  But we also need to keep our independence.

Third sector organisations: Employment thinks: We need the council and the mental health trust to provide more job opportunities. Will the recovery hub help make this happen?’

Carl’s director thinks: The hub’s seen as a flagship by the Mental Health Trust, the Local Authority and the Clinical Commissioning Group.

So it would be a good idea to arrange regular meetings of their representatives.
