Learning events in the Strengthening Families, Protecting Children (SFPC) Programme are an opportunity to share learning that focuses on the changes to systems and practice taking place in local authorities across England, where teams are adopting three recent innovations in children’s social care: Hertfordshire’s Family Safeguarding; Leeds’ Family Valued and North Yorkshire’s No Wrong Door.

This September, participants from across the programme will attend a week-long Strengthening Families Learning Event.

From 14 September, a series of online workshops will be held in which the teams from the three innovator authorities will lead discussions with adopters of all three innovations being scaled in the Programme around a shared theme: Balancing protecting children with support for families.

In this short video Dawn Taylor, Deputy Director at the Department for Education, introduces the theme and its relevance to the Strengthening Families Programme, and welcomes all those participating in the event.

Innovator-led workshop dates and times as follows:

On Friday 17 September, a whole-programme webinar will bring together the three SFPC innovators in a panel discussion to explore themes and issues that have emerged from the week’s workshops. We look forward to seeing you all there.
