Safeguarding adults for housing staff training course

Our CPD-accredited course is a comprehensive introduction to safeguarding adults developed specifically for staff working in the housing sector. The training is designed to equip frontline housing staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to recognise safeguarding concerns and respond to them appropriately.

Course content

Content includes:

  • an introduction to safeguarding as outlined by the Care Act 2014
  • a summary of duties and responsibilities for local authorities
  • the importance of cooperation, partnership and information sharing
  • the relevance of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • case studies to explore safeguarding in practice

Learning outcomes

Attendees will learn how to improve safeguarding practice within the housing sector. Participants will:

  • understand safeguarding responsibilities and duties
  • understand the importance of joint working and good communication
  • know how to share information appropriately, at the right time, with the right people
  • learn how to put safeguarding into practice including identifying risk and challenging local authority decisions.

Duration

The length of the training is one full day, however SCIE trainers can deliver it over two half-days to suit your organisation’s needs.
