Impact report 2023/24: Collaborating and innovating in social care to improve lives

March 2024

As a not-for-profit independent and impartial charity we are driven by improving social care for adults and children. From over twenty years’ experience, we bring a wealth of trusted, evidence-based expertise to work collaboratively to help transform care. This expertise is demonstrated in the feedback we have received on our delivery which we are proud to share in our Impact Report for 2023/24.

We support all those who work in social care, focusing on embedding co-production, driving innovation and improvement, influencing and supporting delivery and implementation of better policy, and improving safeguarding – we would love to discuss how we can best help you.

Our offer spans consultancy, training, research and knowledge. Highlights of our impact include:

  • 94.5% surveyed regarding our DHSC work said that our advice and guidance resources gave them a better understanding of best practice
  • 90% surveyed said our offer improved their confidence and skills
  • 87% of attendees said our strengths-based training made a positive contribution to their work
  • 95% of attendees felt that our safeguarding training would make a positive contribution to their work
  • 82% intended to change their practice following our intervention

“Our impact is your impact.”

Now more than ever our sector needs an independent charity that makes the case for the incredible value and difference that great social care can make to people’s lives, and should be enabled to do so. Driven by the breadth of evidence collated, deep knowledge of the issues and challenges faced both locally and nationally, and by the voice of lived experience, SCIE has a unique role to play.
