NCASC: National Children and Adult Services Conference 2026
Liverpool: 11-13 November 2026
The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) is attending the National Children and Adult Services Conference (NCASC) 2026 to share insights and learnings from our wide-ranging consultancy and training support for local authorities, including our analysis of Care Quality Commission (CQC) assessments.
This year, we’ll be focusing on care equity, transitions from children’s to adult social care and commissioning.

Sub-plenary on care equity
Following the launch of our Care Equity Evidence Hub in April, we are delighted to announce we’re running a sub-plenary on care equity on Friday 13 November at 09.15 in Room 2F, to consider what a fair social care system could really look like.
The Chair is Dr Clenton Farquharson from Think Local Act Personal (TLAP), and speakers include Chris Badger (CQC), Phil Holmes (President, ADASS), Jacqui Darlington (National Co-production Advisory Group), and our Interim CEO Gerard Crofton-Martin.
DHSC DfE Transitions programme
SCIE is working with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) and Department for Education (DfE) on a new project to improve transitions into adult social care. At NCASC, we’ll provide results from our new research into challenges and gaps in existing resources and guidance in this area, plus information about upcoming best practice co-produced resources to ensure the workforce have the knowledge and tools they need to provide high-quality support to young people as they transition into adulthood.
Visit our Exhibition Stand F10 to find out more and pledge your support.
Social care curry
The reinstated social care curry will take place next to the conference centre at White Tiger, Keel Wharf, Liverpool, L3 4FN, on Thursday 12 November 7.30pm.
Do join us and other colleagues for an informal evening! More details to follow.
