Concluding the programme
Congratulations, you have come to the end of the Strengths-based practice leadership programme. We developed the programme to support health and social care practice leaders influence their teams and their wider systems to embed strengths-based practice.
The programme has focussed on helping you to demonstrate the following leadership behaviours:
- I recognise my strengths as a leader and how I can build upon these
- I reflect my professional values in my leadership
- I lead in partnership with people with lived experience and their communities
- I facilitate the practice of others to become more strengths-based in their work
- I lead teams which build on their individual and collective strengths
- I make positive changes in my organisation and the wider system.
The programme content has been structured around the following aspects of leadership:
- Leadership of self – Reflecting on our leadership behaviours and taking responsibility for their development
- Leadership of teams and systems – Two leadership contexts which are central to the implementation of strengths-based practice
- Leadership of change – How engaging with people and process can enable us to achieve long-lasting and impactful change.
We aimed to make it as current and relevant to your work as possible, and included contributions from many experts and people with lived experience who we hope gave you examples that resonated with your own experiences, and added to your understanding of the main issues. We hope you enjoyed the programme and found it to be a challenging but enlightening journey.
We would now like you to review your learning by completing Work-based task six. This will give you the opportunity to reflect on your journey through the programme and to consider your plans to further develop your leadership behaviours, and how you can influence others to be strengths-based in their practice.
The virtual learning resource will be available for two months following the last virtual contact day – so do please continue to engage with these resources as they will be helpful for your ongoing development.
