Evaluation Tools and Integration Journeys: Event
Tuesday 20 November 2018, central London
Part of the Better Care Support Team's Thematic national workshops for better care: Autumn 2018 – Spring 2019
The BCST, supported by SCIE, is running a series of 5 workshops during autumn 2018 and spring 2019 to support local areas in their delivery of integrated care.
This workshop focused on measuring and evaluation. Professor Julien Forder and James Caiels from the University of Kent discussed the findings of their evaluation of the Better Care Fund and explained how they had carried out their research, including the challenges they had faced. Eleanor Atkinson from NHS England is part of a team developing a new evaluation tool - ‘Integrating Better: a guide’. Eleanor gave an overview of the guide and asked participants for feedback on the case studies that will be included. Ewan King from SCIE introduced the SCIE logic model for integrated care, which can help local areas to measure their progress towards integration.

The workshops are free, and all colleagues working on Better Care Fund initiatives are encouraged to attend. Details about further workshops will be announced on the SCIE events page.
