Concept of a strengths-based approach under the Care Act 2014

The main aim of the Care Act 2014 is to promote people’s wellbeing and independence. The assessment process aims to put people at the centre of understanding their needs and how they can achieve their goals.

At the heart of this change is the focus on a ‘Strengths based approach’ (or what some people call an ‘asset based approach’).

This film looks at strengths-based interventions, which are holistic, person-centred and outcomes-focused in order to improve people’s lives.
