Webinar recording: Getting commissioning right
Exploring good commissioning during and beyond COVID-19
Recorded 9 July 2020
The impact of COVID-19 on social care over the last three months has been severe, and at times, deeply shocking. All parts of the sector have experienced serious disruption. Commissioners and the commissioning process, are no exception. In some parts of the country, relationships between commissioner and providers have been strained to breaking point. In too many instances, unnecessary bureaucracy has got in the way of good decisions and in the worst cases, narrow financial decisions have been prioritised over the safety of people who use services.
At the same time, there have been many examples of good practice and a growing willingness amongst sector leaders and commissioners to think differently and more ambitiously about how we commission in the future.
