Breaking down the barriers to co-production (Webinar recording)

In July 2018, and for the third year running, Co-production Week celebrated the benefits of co-production, share good practice and highlight the contribution of people who use services and carers to developing better public services. This recording of a webinar held in the week looked how to break down barriers to co-production. It featured presentations from two members of SCIE's Co-production Network – Tina Coldham and Kevin Minier - and SCIE's Head of Co-production, Pete Fleischmann. They drew on their extensive experience of co-production in a wide range of settings including local authorities, voluntary organisations and health care to outline the common barriers to co-production and share potential solutions.

Over 350 people took part in the two webinars that took place during the week. This recording is from the webinar that took place on Thursday 5 July and lasts about an hour. Participants left their thoughts in the chat box and eight polls were run to find out how people feel that barriers to co-production are being broken down in their areas.

The webinars and this recording are just one part of the Co-production Week 2018 activities. SCIE also ran a Co-production Festival where Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy performed, along with others. And the always-popular Co-production Week blog had just shy of 5,000 views. This year Twitter responses were really good, with many Tweets from partners doing well. It’s never too early to start planning your contribution to Co-production Week 1 – 5 July, 2019.
