At SCIE, we are proud to support charities in their safeguarding work. Charities across the UK play an important role in the lives of many children, young people and adults with care and support needs.
SCIE continues to host free of charge face to face events to help disseminate best practice to improve the outcomes for those receiving care and support and the workforce who are working to help them.
In this exclusive panel event, held at the NCVO offices in King’s Cross, London, we looked deeper into the subject of self-neglect with guest speaker Michael Preston-Shoot (via live link) and experts in the room from our Practice Development Team.
Aims of this free event:
- To introduce you to safeguarding adults under the Care Act 2014 with a particular focus on self-neglect.
- To promote best practice in safeguarding and supporting adults who self-neglect across the charity sector.
- To discuss learning from research and Safeguarding Adults Reviews.
- To explore the role of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 within the context of self-neglect and recent Court of Protection decisions.
