Tackling inequalities in care for people with learning disabilities and autistic people

Tackling inequalities webinar: How can we make care more equal for people with learning disabilities and autistic people?

Wednesday 19 March 2025. 12pm – 1pm.

People with learning disabilities and autistic people continue to experience poor health outcomes in comparison to the rest of the population, leading to lower life expectancy and a higher number of avoidable deaths (House of commons committee report, 2024).

Join SCIE and friends for a webinar as we discuss SCIE’s Tackling Inequalities project and share best practice from our latest guidance on this topic. You will leave with an understanding of the inequalities faced by people with learning disabilities and autistic people and the practical steps needed to improve experiences of care and support, as well as SCIE’s approach to co-production on this project.

You will also have the chance to ask our expert panel questions, made up of SCIE practice development consultants, learning disability advocates and members of the SCIE Fliers, our brilliant co-production group, who have lived experience and worked with us throughout this project.

This webinar is for:

  • Practitioners from the health and social care sector working with people with a learning disability.
  • Commissioners and providers of health and social care services for adults with a learning disability.
  • Practitioners and providers working with people with a learning disability in wider settings, including education, housing, the voluntary and community sector, employment and criminal justice services.
  • Anyone interested in co-production work
