Principles of excellence: Strong leadership, culture and workforce
These examples demonstrate the kinds of strong leadership and culture that is instrumental in providing high-quality, personalised care for people who draw on support. Leadership starts at the top and buy-in from staff is best when they see leaders and managers living the values and vision themselves. Strong leadership also means investing in workforce training and development. Development of skills and capabilities around supporting people with complex and multiple health and social care needs, including dementia and learning disabilities, is particularly important.
